Jessica Hoffman Brennan is Managing Director and the Head of Client and Product Solutions at Onex Corp. Ms. Brennan leads investor relations, marketing and capital formation activities of Onex, a publicly traded asset management firm (TSX: ONEX) with $44 billion AUM. Through her leadership, the firm has diversified its investor base and is successfully expanding into various new strategies, including performing and opportunistic private and liquid credit building on the firm’s longstanding capital foundation in private equity.
Prior to joining Onex, Ms. Brennan spent the last decade as a Partner and Managing Director of The Carlyle Group where she was responsible for investor relations and business development. There, she worked with many of Carlyle’s largest investors, including sovereign wealth funds, public pension funds, insurance companies, ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices, and formed several strategic separate accounts with some of Carlyle’s largest investors.
Over her 20+ year career, Ms. Brennan has routinely raised billions of dollars annually with several exciting notable highs. She is a recognized leader in fundraising in alternative asset classes for maintaining the highest levels of production even during challenging market periods.
Ms. Brennan capital formation activities span 400+ alternative investment strategies, i.e., funds and direct investments, including: private equity, private credit, real assets, liquid alternatives, specialty and niche alternatives, as well as strategic accounts and structured insurance and credit products.
Before Carlyle, Ms. Brennan was a Managing Director in the Private Fund Group at Credit Suisse which acquired her prior firm, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ). She joined DLJ in 1999 from Deutsche Bank's Private Equity Group.
Ms. Brennan holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an AB degree in both Economics and Literature from the University of Michigan. She serves on the Executive Board for the Wharton Graduate School and on the Executive Committee of the Women’s Leadership Board at Harvard Kennedy School’s Women and Public Policy Center. She is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of the University of Michigan’s Literature Science & the Arts College and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.
